Our disaster management services are used by government departments, district administrations, industry, hospitals and community organisations. Most clients come to us with a specific problem rather than a general one: a district that floods every monsoon, a plant storing hazardous material near a settlement, a response team that has never been trained for a chemical incident. The services below are usually combined rather than bought separately.
How our disaster management services fit together
Work normally starts with assessment. A risk assessment and mapping study establishes which hazards matter, who is exposed and where the gaps are. That shapes everything after it, because training, planning and community work all depend on knowing what you are preparing for.
Assessment is followed by preparation. That may mean capacity-building and training workshops for responders and staff, community-based preparedness programmes for the people who live with the risk, or an emergency response plan with drills to test it.
After an event, disaster recovery planning and implementation covers damage assessment, reconstruction standards, livelihood support and the financing arrangements that decide whether recovery reaches low-income households. Running alongside all of it, our research and knowledge sharing and international partnerships keep the methods current.
Technology we use
We apply GIS, remote sensing, drone survey, data analytics and decision support systems where they add something a site visit cannot. Satellite imagery shows how a river channel has shifted over twenty years. Drone survey reaches terrain that is unsafe or inaccessible after an event. A GIS-based decision support system holds the layers together so that the information can be updated as conditions change.
Talk to us about your disaster management services requirement
